TPC of Scottsdale
Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale
The TPC of Scottsdale opened in 1987 with two golf courses, the Stadium Course and the Desert Course. Both courses were designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish and built specifically to host the Phoenix Open, one of the most popular and most desirable stops on the PGA Tour. The Phoenix Open is considered the world's largest spectator golf event. The 6,992 yard Stadium Course (rating 73.9, slope 131) offers the average golfer the opportunity to play where PGA Tour and Senior PGA Tour professionals regularly practice and play.

It is an opportunity to experience first hand what sets the Tournament Players Clubs apart from other golf facilities. Featured is the trademark spectator mounding that promises an exceptional view to almost everyone in the 400,000+ galleries that attend the 4-day Phoenix Open event each year. Cond Nast Tarveler has included the TPC of Scottsdale among the Top 20 Resort/Golf Destinations in the world and Golf Digest rates the TPC with 4 stars as one of the Best Places to Play. The commitment to excellence goes beyond the golf experience. In 1996, the TPC facility was certified by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program and presented with the Best of 1996 Award by Links Magazine/Audubon International in the category of Golf & the Environment.
TPC of Scottsdale Golf
The Stadium Course annually ranks among the best public courses in the state and the nation. The 6,522 yard Desert Course (rating 71.4, slope 112) is a gem of a municipal course where golfers can walk or ride. It offers a more level cruise through the lush green fairways bordered by natural desert vegetation. It was built specifically to offer the residents of the county and others an afforable and enjoyable alternative to the longer and more challenging Stadium Course.
The award-winning clubhouse is the home to the golf shop. In 1996, the TPC Golf shop was recognized, for the eigth time, as one of the best Municipal Golf Shop Operations in America by Golf Shop Operations Magazine. "The Grille" is also located inside the Clubhouse. Owned and operated by the adjacent world-class Princess Resort, it is one of the finest dining establishments in the entire Phoenix metropolitan area.

Featured Hole
The featured hole on the TPC Stadium Course is the par-5, 15th hole. Only 501 yards, it challenges many golfers to attempt to reach the green in two. It is a reachable par-5 with water on the left side of the fairway leading up to the island green. The back tees test the highly skilled player, while the regular tees provide a fair challenge making the course a favorite for golfers of all skill levels.
