Grayhawk
The masterplanned golf community known as Grayhawk encompasses 1,615 acres, with 40% of that total (650) remaining in its natural state. There are two distinct, yet interconnected neighborhoods, The Park and The Retreat, each offering a variety of prices, amenities and lifestyles. Grayhawk offers a blend of family-oriented neighborhoods and resort-style living. Grayhawk homes for sale feature upscale amenities including the 30-mile trail system, neighborhood pocket parks, 15 acre city park, private and public schools, a Scottsdale Memorial Health System Campus, a luxury life-care retirement community, tennis courts, ramadas, a golf club and restaurants.

In addition, the future could include the development of a world-class resort complex zoned to include a health spa and racquet club, vacation villas, restaurants and boutiques all in a village like setting. Two championship, daily-fee golf courses, Talon and Raptor, are serviced by the 40,000 square foot Grayhawk Golf Clubhouse, which includes a complete golf shop and Trading Co., men/women locker rooms, conference rooms and exquisite al fresco or indoor dining at Phil's Grill and Quill Creek Cafe. Respect for the natural desert environment and an array of innovative designs and architecture distinguish the selected group of builders of homes in Grayhawk.
The Grayhawk Golf Club is home to two world-class golf courses, Talon and Raptor. The 6,973 yard Talon course opened in 1994 and has a rating of 74.3 and a slope of 141 from the Talon tees. Talon, designed by David Graham and Gary Panks, with only 73 acres of turf, provides the golfer with an exceptional desert golf experience. This stunning layout is one of the most dramatic you will experience anywhere. The 7,135 yard Raptor course opened in 1996 and has a rating of 74 and a slope of 136 from the Raptor tees. Raptor, Tom Fazio's first daily-fee course in the Phoenix area, offers more subtle, hence more difficult to read, undulations than Talon, but is an equally fantastic golf experience.
Featured Holes
Talon Course - the par-5 18th hole on Talon, called "Five Falls" is a beautiful example of Graham and Panks' ability to provide the golfer with a scenic environment, while still presenting a challenge. The water and bunkers protecting the green are strategically placed to balance the designers' dual objectives of beauty and difficulty.
Raptor Course - Number 16, a 211-yard par-3 from the Raptor tees, is named "Little Creek". This beautiful hole has a bowl-shaped green with desert features on three sides and a creek-fed pond along the left side. With a 60-foot drop in elevation and a green running a full 25 yards from front to back, club selection is critical to getting where you want to be. At Grayhawk, golfing is a pleasure, not a struggle.
