Desert Forest Golf Club

Desert Forest

The private, members-only Desert Forest Golf Club first opened its doors in 1962. Robert "Red" Lawrence designed the 7,011-yard course that has been consistently rated in the Top 100 golf courses in the country since the rating system was established.

Very little dirt was moved when the course was built, with the natural f=grade of the desert terrain guiding the design and construction. With its tight fairways and lightning fast greens, the course offers a challenge to every level of golfer. It has withstood the test of time magnificently, only recently undergoing a water system renovation in 2001. There is a substantial elevation change from the clubhouse to the highest point of the course, approximately 400 feet that compliments the gentle, undulating layout.

The Desert Forest Gold Club offers a dining facility and a golf pro shop to its current members. Two regular Golf Members, who each have one year seniority and are personally acquainted with the candidate, must sponsor all new member candidates. There is no food and beverage minimum, golf cart fees are $13 per person per round, locker fees are $100 and the club handling/storage fee is $100 annually.

Featured Hole

The featured hole is the 387-yard, par-4, 10th hole that appears to lull the golfer to sleep. The tee shot requires the golfer to be in the middle, as the fairway narrows in the landing area. Your second shot also puts a premium on the accuracy, as the bunkers appear to be hidden from the middle of the fairway.
